Question
Can the police still try to press charges against me?
In 2004 I was involved in an altercation with my boyfriend and was charged with assault and property damage for 2 months. Later I was picked up for questioning and my boyfriend beat me to the police station and said he was not pressing charges I was booked and released. Now I am trying to get a private security license and the case is still pending disposition. I was told by the officer 2 years later that they had 3 years to press charges and that was up 4 years ago. Can they still try to press charges against me?LawQA.com Answer Library
